PhD in Performance Sports Engineering – University of Southampton
The bulk of my work was in developing a pneumatic motion platform and a method to measure the loads which elite sailors exhert on their boats. This gave the British Sailing Team the ability to measure the perforance of their sailors relative to the wind and wave conditions.
I refined my skills in instrumentation design, structural design, machine design, fabrication, electronics and experiment planning and research.
BEng (Hons) Marine Technology in Small Craft – Newcastle University
I originally intended to become a yacht designer so studied at the prestigious Newcastle University. I received a multidisciplinary education in most forms of engineering including fluid mechanics, structures, dynamics, machine design, materials, electronics, product design and naval architecture.
The broad array of topics allowed me to specialise in implementing complex and multidisciplinary engineering.
